Student Spotlight: Namygal
My name is Namgyal. I am a Tibetan, born and raised in Nepal. In 2008, I moved to Seattle, and I have lived here with my family since then.
I joined Literacy Source in 2022 to continue my education and improve my English. As English is my second language, Literacy Source has helped in my personal and academic growth. Literacy Source is welcoming to immigrants who want to improve their English. It treats all the students equally and provides classes free, making it accessible to everyone. I appreciate that the class is offered online. This allows students like me to study at our own pace and balance learning with family responsibilities.
Since joining Literacy Source, I have seen great improvement in my reading, writing, and communication skills. The teachers are friendly, supportive, and dedicated. One of the most valuable experiences for me has been writing essays each quarter. Before I joined Literacy Source, I had never written an essay in my life. Now I feel more comfortable expressing my ideas in writing, except for grammatical mistakes.

Literacy Source is a diverse community. I have been attending classes for a long time, maybe longer than most of my classmates. Sometimes I feel embarrassed about this, as if it is time to leave. However, my love for Literacy Source keeps me motivated to continue learning.
Literacy Source is especially helpful for parents like me because it provides the opportunity to grow academically while raising children. Overall, Literacy Source has been an essential part of my English learning journey. It is a very supportive community. Because of all the above reasons, I believe it is one of the best places to improve the English language and build a better future.
