Adult Basic Education (ABE) and GED Preparation
Our ABE/GED program provides both small group classes and one-on-one tutoring for adults who would like to improve their basic reading, writing, and math skills and prepare for the GED. Our classes and tutoring are free for low-income adults. If you’d like to see a list of our classes, please see our Current Schedule.
In order to become a student at Literacy Source, you must first attend a New Student Orientation. Our staff at Literacy Source will help you sign up for classes and a tutor at your orientation. If you would like to become a student at Literacy Source, please call 206.782.2050 or email us to sign up.”
Literacy Source helps adult learners prepare for the GED through classes and tutoring. We also have an online program that our students can use to study at home. Once a student is ready to take the GED test, they can make an appointment at a local GED testing center.
Participation in Literacy Source programs leading to a GED qualifies as being “currently in school” for purposes of applying for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
For more information about the GED, please visit the GED Testing Service website.
